Describe your college experience
Transitioning from Nepal to college life at UCLA was both exciting and challenging. Adjusting to a new culture and academic environment took time, but the supportive campus community and creative atmosphere have helped me grow personally and academically
Tip for future students
I’d tell future students to take things one step at a time and not be afraid to ask for help. UCLA can feel big at first, but there’s always someone willing to guide you. Getting involved early, exploring clubs, and talking to new people really helps make campus feel like home.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been Cinematography. It taught me how to see light, color, and movement in a completely new way. I love how the class combines both creativity and technical skill, and how every frame becomes a chance to tell a story visually. It’s the class that made me truly fall in love with filmmaking.
Career goals
My goal after college is to become a documentary filmmaker. I want to use storytelling to explore culture, history, and social issues, creating films that leave a meaningful impact on audiences.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is spending time with friends, exploring Los Angeles, or watching a great film. I also enjoy reading or just relaxing and reflecting on the day.
