Describe your college experience
Coming to UW was a big transition, but ISE ended up being the perfect fit for me. It's this mix of hands-on problem solving and big-picture systems thinking that I didn't expect to love as much as I do. Between classes, campus life, and staying involved with my family's manufacturing business back in India, it's been a busy four years, but a really good one.
Tip for future students
Get involved early and don't be afraid to reach out to professors or older students. UW feels huge at first, but it shrinks fast once you find your people. Also, find your go-to study spots early. Makes a bigger difference than you'd think. P.S. Do not forget to stay hydrated and well-fed!
Favorite class
IND E 337, hands down — Introduction to Manufacturing Systems. It covers process flow analysis, job-shop vs. assembly line setups, and inventory philosophies like JIT and MRP. It's one of those classes where the concepts actually click because I can see them play out in the real operational work I do with my family's manufacturing business, not just theory on a slide.
Career goals
I want to move into operations or project management roles where I can put systems engineering thinking to use on real supply chain and manufacturing problems, ideally somewhere I can keep building on the hands-on experience I already have.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Honestly, either out with friends or a chill poker night with the boys. Can't go wrong with either.
