UW College of Arts & Sciences Student
Heyyy I'm Aadya, a sophomore primarily involved in research labs and a dance for our competitive Bollywood fusion team. Outside of class, I love exploring Seattle, trying new boba places, singing, and dancing a variety of styles. Whether you have questions about research, campus life, housing, balancing extracurriculars, or more, I'd love to share my experience and help you get a better feel for UW!

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to UW was both exciting and challenging. Coming from Bay Area California, I had to adjust to living away from home, the change from year long sunny weather, and balancing classes with research and extracurriculars. Joining research labs early gave me valuable hands-on experience, while becoming part of UW Kahaani helped me build an incredible community and stay connected to my love of dance. Between academics, performances, and exploring Seattle with friends, I've found a great balance that has made my college experience both rewarding and memorable.
Tip for future students
Get out of your comfort zone! Try new things! Get involved early, even if you're nervous. Put yourself out there, go to every club and activity your interested in in the beginning to narrow down your interests and meet new people. Talk to new people anywhere and everywhere, make new connections. College is truly what you make of it, and getting involved is one of the best ways to find your community.
Favorite class
My favorite class was of course the classic Psych 210 - Diversity of Human Sexuality. Yes, it's that class everyone talks about, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. This course is unique because it combined science with very open conversations about topics that seem taboo in our society. Especially with professor Nicole McNichols, easily one of the funniest and most engaging professors I've had, so lectures never felt like a chore. I laughed, learned a ton, and definitely walked away busting a few myths I didn't even realize I believed.
Career goals
After college, I hope to attend graduate school and build a career in clinical neuropsychology focused on learning, behavior, and neurological disorders. I also hope to stay involved in dance, since it's been such an important part of my life and college experience.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Side questing with friends, taking the link to grab dinner and desert, amd exploring new mini golf places near by. If I have a quieter evening, I love watching a new movie, learning tik tok dances, or relaxing with a good book.
