Hi! I’m Eunice, a current MFA Film & Television Production student at USC School of Cinematic Arts and a USC alum from the School of Dramatic Arts. I love helping students and families learn more about USC, especially the creative community, student life, and opportunities within film, entertainment, and the arts. Throughout my time at USC, I’ve been involved in filmmaking, student organizations, live production, mentorship programs, and creative projects across campus. Having experienced USC as both an undergraduate and graduate student, I’m happy to answer questions about academics, campus culture, cinematic arts, student involvement, balancing creative projects, and navigating life at USC overall. Whether you’re interested in film, storytelling, campus life, or simply want an honest perspective on the USC experience, I’d love to help and share my experience!

Describe your college experience

Transitioning to USC was both exciting and transformative for me. As a Theater major with a Minor in Cinematic Arts, I quickly became involved in collaborative creative environments through film productions, student organizations, live events, and leadership opportunities. My college experience has allowed me to grow not only as a filmmaker and performer, but also as a communicator, collaborator, and leader. One of the most rewarding parts of USC has been working across disciplines and building meaningful relationships through storytelling, production, and community involvement. I am currently continuing my education at USC as an M.F.A. Film & Television Production student at the School of Cinematic Arts.

Tip for future students

Get involved early in student organizations, creative projects, internships, campus events, and opportunities related to your interests. No matter what major you are pursuing, internships and extracurricular activities directly tied to your field of interest or studies are incredibly valuable. They help you gain hands-on experience, build practical skills, explore potential career paths, and develop meaningful professional connections. Some of my most meaningful experiences in college came from joining organizations, collaborating with others on creative work, attending networking events, and reaching out to professors, mentors, and peers for guidance and support. Many opportunities can come unexpectedly through the connections you build and the initiative you take. Even stepping outside of your comfort zone in small ways, such as introducing yourself to someone new or applying for a position you are unsure about, can lead to valuable experiences and personal growth. College goes by quickly, so staying curious, building genuine relationships, and actively participating in your community can make a huge difference both personally and professionally.

Favorite class

One of my favorite classes was Directing for Television because it combined creative storytelling with hands-on collaboration and real production experience. I enjoyed learning how to direct actors, communicate visual ideas, and manage scenes in a fast-paced environment while working closely with a creative team. The class challenged me to think both artistically and technically, balancing storytelling, performance, and production coordination at the same time. It strengthened my leadership and creative problem-solving skills, while also deepening my passion for filmmaking and visual storytelling.

Career goals

After college, I hope to work within the entertainment industry at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and creative production. I am especially interested in areas such as virtual production, VFX, immersive media, and innovative production workflows that are shaping the future of film, television, gaming, and digital entertainment. I am also passionate about entertainment marketing and social media strategy, particularly how audiences engage with brands, stories, and online communities in today’s media landscape. Long term, I hope to contribute to large-scale entertainment projects while continuing to develop original creative work and grow within the business side of the entertainment industry.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is doing a mix of creative and relaxing activities, like watching a great film, playing the piano, dancing, editing videos, or brainstorming story ideas for future projects. I also enjoy exploring new cafés or restaurants with friends, attending concerts or live entertainment events, and spending time around creative communities in Los Angeles. Whether it is music, film, performance, or simply good conversations with people I enjoy being around, I love experiences that feel inspiring, artistic, and memorable.
