University of Delaware Tour with a Cognitive Science Student
Hello, my name is Nadia! I am a freshman (academically a sophomore) at the University of Delaware for Cognitive Science. I was born and raised in Delaware and grew up in and around the UD campus, with two UD alum siblings. In my free time, I love to read, hike, and hang out with friends! On your tour, I'm excited to share not just facts, but also the inside scoop—the best spots to hang out on campus, the best resources, and what UD is really like as a student. :)

Describe your college experience
So far, the transition has been great! I've met a lot of new friends, future mentors, and staff, and have been connecting with clubs and associations I'm interested in. I'm excited to move on campus!
Tip for future students
For future students, don't be afraid to reach out for help, especially during the college application process. It can become overwhelming and scary, but if you have the right people around you, it can be a lot easier. And once you're getting ready for your first year of college, don't be afraid to reach out and make new friends!
Favorite class
In high school, I took Media & Society at UD. It was an asynchronous/online class, but it really allowed me to get a feel for connecting with peers, reaching out to professors, and managing my work by myself. The class itself was also very interesting, we dove into the history and impact of the different medias, from newspapers to social media.
Career goals
After college, I hope to become a Speech Language Pathologist and help people become more confident in their voice and language.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love getting snuggled up with a good book, but I also love hanging out with my friends!
High school or secondary school
Cab Calloway School of the Arts
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is Main Street! There, you can find almost any kind of restaurant, small shops, and just walk around with friends.
