Describe your college experience
Coming from the East Coast, college in Santa Barbara was a bit hard at first. But I soon found a group of friends I genuinely connected with. The greater Santa Barbara area is full of cool things to do, and looking back, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
Tip for future students
Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable. College, especially the first year, is full of new experiences, and some of those may not be what you expected. Building a network of relationships on campus takes time, and some find it easier than others. Trust yourself, and learn to try new things and put yourself out there.
Favorite class
Geography of Surfing has been my favorite class by far. It covers the science and history of surfing, as well as wave prediction. As a surfer, learning the science behind the sport I love made it all the more enjoyable.

Ideal way to spend a free night
Depends on what day of the week it is. If it's a weekday, I would say, get food in IV or maybe In-and-Out, and then go and watch the sunset at Sands Beach. If it's a Thursday/Friday/Saturday, nothing beats going out with friends.
