Talkative International Affairs major, who loves exploring campus and the city.
Hi everyone! I’m Will an International Affairs, and political science major with a minor in journalism. Before moving to GW, I’ve lived my whole life on Long Island New York. My most frequented location on campus is the wellness center, as I’m usually playing basketball, in the pool or in the gym. I’d be glad so show off my favorite places to eat on campus, the best study spots, and if you a runner my favorite spots to start my runs. I love to talk as well, so I’ll gladly share my own experiences and answer any questions you might have.

Describe your college experience
My college experience has been an overall fun and interesting learning experience but it has definitely come with some ups and downs a long the way. On the academic side of my first year I college I was pretty successful as I’ve come into GW with a lot of transfer credits from High School, to the extent where I’m classified as junior. Due to this I was able to courses beyond standard GEN ED and Prerequisites I would normally have to take. This has made it much easier for me to study and stay focused on my work as I’ve taken classes that cover what I’m truly passionate about. As for the social dimension of my college experience I’d say it’s overall been great, but at certain times it’s felt like a bit of a rollercoaster due to challenges like balancing my relationships with time. However despite any challenges I would not change my experiences, the close friends I’ve made on my own and with the frisbee team are incredibly important to me. I also did a short term study abroad this summer aswell, since that was my first time out of the country that was definitely another major learning experience for me. In it’s entirety my college experience has been an extensive learning experience both academically and socially, so I’d look forward to sharing my experiences as well as helping others to find the right place to embark upon their own journey.
Tip for future students
I would say to has expectations but to also not be worried if things do play out like you expected them. When I was going into my first year I had a very rigid expectation of the way things would go, so when things deviated from those expectations I got nervous and worried that I was falling behind or things weren’t going well. However most things work out in ways you weren’t expecting so I’d say stay optimistic. Sometimes when your plans don’t go perfectly you may actually wind up in a better place then you thought you’d be in had things go the way they were supposed to. This is how I’ve met some of my best friends in college and gained some of the more exciting opportunities.
Favorite class
U.S. Foreign Policy
Career goals
My biggest aspiration would definitely be to work in the United States foreign service as a diplomat. Foreign policy and international politics are not only parts of my major but also one of my biggest interests. My interest In foreign policy as well as my desire to travel and meet new people in different parts of the world. The Foreign service is a great opportunity to do both of these things, but it is a huge commitment and difficult to become a part of especially out of undergrad. So out of college I’d consider another role with the State Department, Officer Candidate school, or grad school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
An ideal night for myself would be one with friends what we’re doing isn’t always the most important part. However if I had to choose it would probably be exploring a new area in DC. Anytime I was in a new place with friends this past year it was always a great night to remember. Whether it’d be random people on the street that we’d meet or simply the novelty of being somewhere we’d never been, exploring a new place with friends is truly one of the best experiences I’ve had.
High school or secondary school
Harborfields High school
Favorite spot on campus
I’d say my favorite sport on campus would have been the fourth floor lounge in Thurston hall, but I think this will be subject to change as me nor my friends will be living this semester. So my overall favorite spot is probably in the learner health and wellness center as I have a lot of memories there of working out or playing basketball and talking to friends after stressful day.
