Student Athlete @ Yale University
Hi! I’m on Yale’s varsity soccer team and majoring in Environmental Studies. When I’m not in class or on the field, I love exploring New Haven’s local spots, spending time with my teammates, and getting involved in campus sustainability initiatives. I’m always happy to share insights about student life, classes, sports, and everything that makes Yale such a unique place!

Describe your college experience
Everyone at Yale was so welcoming and genuine, which made my transition feel really smooth. I loved my first semester—joining clubs, going on the First-Year Outdoor Orientation trip, and meeting so many new people. I played club soccer in the fall but missed the competitive side, so I walked on to the varsity team that winter. Since then, being part of the team has become such a meaningful part of my life. Academically, after taking a few environmental classes my first year, I realized how much I wanted to study the connection between people and the planet. That’s what led me to major in Environmental Studies. I’ve loved my time at Yale, both on and off the field, and I’m so grateful for the way my life here has come together.
Tip for future students
Take the class you’re interested in, even if you’re not sure you’ll do well in it. Learning how to fail, and be okay with it, is such an important part of college. Some of my biggest lessons have come from moments that didn’t go as planned. Freshman year is really about figuring out what you love. You’ll have plenty of time to finish your prerequisites, so use that time to explore. There are so many incredible classes at Yale, you might be surprised by what ends up inspiring you.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been “Leadership as Behavior.” It focused on how to become a better leader through your actions —learning to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and tell your story. It didn’t just make me a better teammate and student; it genuinely made me a better person and taught me how to build stronger, more meaningful relationships.
Career goals
I hope to work in the climate tech space, either at a startup or a larger company developing innovative solutions to address climate change.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night off is spending time with friends — trying a new restaurant, going to a party, or having a cozy movie night. The people here are truly what make Yale so special.
