Describe your college experience
The transition to college has definitely been challenging, but the people in my life and the resources that SMU has provided has helped makes the transition much easier. College has provided me with the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try new things.
Tip for future students
The biggest tip I can give to someone before they start college is get ready to try new things. I’m only a couple months into my first year and I’ve already done things that I thought I would never do. Every new thing that your friend asks you to try or spontaneous trip that comes up on the weekend is an opportunity that you can take advantage of.
Favorite class
My favorite class this year is WRTR 1312, the English breadth that all freshmen are required to take. English has always been a class that I’ve found engaging but I often tend to lose interest when I have to write or read about something that I don’t find interesting. In WRTR 1312 (so far), I’ve written a full paper on my favorite Star Wars movie and I am currently writing a paper on my favorite song. This is my favorite class because I’m able to read and write about the things that I find interesting.
Career goals
After college I want to get into the business world and go into the workforce right away. I’m not sure what specifically I want to do in business yet, but I think that no matter what I choose the hands on experience I’ll be able to get from my school is something that I can’t pass up.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is going to the gym, hanging out with my friends, and overall just relaxing and getting ready for the next day.
