Social and silly Ecology major who loves balancing her academic and social life!
Hello! I am Lily, an enthusiastic freshman studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who loves CU! I am a local Colorado kid who grew up hiking in Boulder and scraping my knees camping! CU was my dream school growing up, and it is such a privilege to attend. I didn't think I would be able to afford to go, but now that I am here I have great financing tips :) I am a very academically focused kid, but I am definitely a jack of all trades kind of girl! A normal day on the CU campus for me looks like lifting weights before my classes, attending my lectures, catching some food at the C4 with my friends, and either getting my homework done at the library or at a coffee shop. I love being involved on campus, whether that be as an Eco Rep in my dorm promoting sustainability, or doing sunrise polar plunges with the Backcountry Squatters! In my experience, the best part about CU is that there is something for everyone!

Clubs, organizations & involvement
I am involved as an Eco Rep promoting sustainability in the residential halls, I just applied for a position in Community Council, and I am a part of the Backcountry Squatters and the CU Wildlife club. Although it has not started yet, my friends and I are trying to be in an intermural volleyball team!

Describe your college experience
Although I am new to campus, I have loved transitioning to CU Boulder and starting my classes! It has been incredible meeting new people, taking classes that actually interest me and are applicable to my passions, and involving myself in the Boulder community!
Tip for future students
I think my biggest tip for future students is that CU is much more affordable than it seems, and it really rewards students who are involved!
Favorite class
Global Change, because my professor does amazing research and has been in a National Geographic Documentary
Career goals
I want to work for national parks across the US doing wildlife conservation and research!
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night would be to meet up with my friends to have dinner together at the dining hall and then going back to my dorm to play cards.
High school or secondary school
Broomfield High School
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is probably the buff pool, I think it is the best place to cool off on a hot day and enjoy spending time with my friends! I swam competitively in high school so I really enjoy being in the water. A close second though is the library, it is the perfect quiet place to get my schoolwork done!
Meeting point
Dalton Trumbo Fountain Court on the University of Colorado Boulder Campus
