Describe your college experience
I served as an elementary school teacher in schools before I worked up the courage to pursue a doctorate in education at the University of Oregon. In my graduate studies courses, I met so many incredible folks from all around the world. During my time as a graduate employee, I learned so many new things outside of my field of study. It has been a great experience with many active supports.
Tip for future students
In addition to your core subjects, remember this is an opportunity to try something new. For example, I tried rock climbing and bouldering, and now I have been regularly climbing for four years with some of the same folks I met in my original class. Also, remember that you have so many different supports across our school, so take the time to walk through all the various areas of our beautiful campus and you will be amazed at what you discover.
Favorite class
I really enjoyed my policy and legislation course. I learned how practice informs law and how law shapes our classrooms. I also really enjoyed my time in the history department!

I hope to work full time in education leadership
