Describe your college experience

I have had a pretty great time at college and have met some amazing people however I have had periods of struggle where I have struggled academically due to burnout and had to work through finding resources to help improve both my mental health and academic standing. But even so I would not choose any other college experience and i have been satisfied with my Stanford experience

Tip for future students

Plan ahead if possibe and do not overwork yourself in order to prevent burnout. Do not overestimate your time capabilities because it is very easy to think that you can handle everything because you have done so in the past in high school, but college is different so start off small to test the waters and see how you feel with the work load.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been BIOE 51 which is anatomy for bioengineers. This is an anatomy class but what makes it special is you get to learn through videos you watch before class and then in class you get to apply what you learned through the videos by looking at real-life cadavers and getting to see the organs and human structures up close and even touching it if you want. I really found it to be a great experience and a great way to learn anatomy as I am a visual learner so getting to see the real thing up close was an amazing experience.

Career goals

I hope to take some gap years and either work on some research or pursue a teaching job and gain experience working with kids to prepare myself to work as a pediatrician in the future. I would also want to look into applying for a post-baccalaureate.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a night is going into my dorm lounge and getting to interact with people in the lounge and just talk about the most random things. I have found the best conversations to have been those random ones you start late at night. If I am not doing this I like to be in my room watching a comfort show while doing a self-care night or even reading a book from my shelf.

Favorite spot on campus

One of my favorite spots on campus is Meyer green beacuase it is a nice field open space where you can go and lie on the grass and relax or read a book and even do some work. There is also coupa cafe right by it so if you are hungry you can go there to grab a snack or a full on meal.
