Rikki Kapiloff, BS Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience, BS Clinical Psychology

I am a second year who is very social and loves getting to know people. I have shown my friends around campus and can give a pretty in-depth description on all colleges and what it is like to be a 4-year student here. Ask me and I'll tell you what the regular campus tours won't.

Describe your college experience

It was a little bit difficult at first, but I found my people and made decisions to better fit myself as a person to maximize my time here.

Tip for future students

Do your research on the colleges and their requirements. Each one is different and depending on your units, you could finish your requirements within your first year.

Favorite class

My favorite class was Sensory and Perception with Professor Barrera because he is so passionate and he did little demos in class to demonstrate the concepts.

Career goals

I hope to get a research assistant position to gain enough experience to get into a PhD program for Clinical Psychology. The dream is to have my own practice to treat adolescence and young adults and my own lab studying anxiety and depression.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love going out with friends to get boba, ice cream, or watching a movie. On weekdays, I usually just go to the gym.

High school or secondary school

Mountain View High School in Mountain View, California, Harvard Secondary School in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the hammocks in front of price center because they are so relaxing!

Meeting point

Triton Fountain on the University of California San Diego campus
