Psychology major specializing in Behavioral Analysis!
Hi! I'm Ruhi, a second-year Psychology major specializing in Behavioral Analysis. I started at UF as an exploratory major, and by exploring different classes and opportunities, I discovered my passion for psychology. I'm hoping to earn my doctorate in psychology and pursue a career in clinical work with children. Outside the classroom, I'm involved in a variety of campus communities, including Greek life, dance organizations, volunteer groups, and aerial arts. One of my favorite things about UF is how easy it is to find a community and get involved, and I love meeting new people and making everyone feel welcome. Whether it's through campus organizations, volunteering, or trying something new, I've found so many opportunities that have made UF feel like home. I'd love to show you some of my favorite spots on campus, give you the inside scoop on what a day in the life at UF really looks like, and answer any questions you have. If I don't know the answer, I'll do my best to connect you with someone who does!

Describe your college experience
I came to UF as an exploratory major because I wanted to discover what I was truly passionate about. By taking classes across different disciplines and utilizing UF's academic and career resources, I found my passion for psychology. I've recently began working in a research lab. Outside of the classroom, joining dance organizations, becoming involved in Greek life, and participating in campus events helped make UF feel like home. My transition to college taught me the importance of exploring new opportunities, stepping outside my comfort zone, and getting involved in the campus community.
Tip for future students
My biggest piece of advice is to embrace the change. Starting college can be confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes it won't live up to the expectations you had in your head. Give yourself time to adjust, be open to new experiences, and don't be afraid to reinvent yourself. Remember that you don't have leave your old self behind when you come to college, but instead you bring every version of yourself with you, and each experience helps shape the person you're becoming.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been EAB3002: Principles of Behavioral Analysis. I've always been interested in child development, and this course helped me better understand how behavior is shaped by experiences and environmental factors. Learning about the connection between behavior and action gave me a new perspective on why people do what they do. It also solidified my interest in psychology and how behavioral science can be used to positively impact others, especially children.
Career goals
Pursue a doctorate of psychology and work in a clinical setting.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is spending time with friends in our dorm or apartment, then taking a walk around campus and stopping for a sweet treat on the way home!

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is the Opus Coffee in Norman Hall. It has a welcoming atmosphere, plenty of natural light, and is the perfect place to study or catch up with friends between classes. Whether I'm working on assignments or just taking a break, it's a space that helps me feel productive while enjoying the sense of community that makes UF special.
