Describe your college experience

My college experience has been amazing. I have loved meeting new people, connecting with inspiring professors, and challenging myself through my classes. Although adjusting to life so far from home was difficult at first, I have made incredible friends who helped Columbia feel like home. Most importantly, I have found a community where I can connect with people from diverse backgrounds while still feeling connected to my own culture.

Tip for future students

My biggest piece of advice for future students is to avoid procrastinating on assignments and to develop strong time-management skills early on. Staying organized and keeping up with your work makes a significant difference, especially during busy parts of the semester. Good time management not only helps reduce stress and improve academic performance, but it also allows you to fully enjoy your college experience, spend time with friends, and take advantage of opportunities outside of Columbia.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Literature Humanities, a course that is required for all Columbia College students. I especially enjoyed reading the wide range of books included in the curriculum and engaging in thoughtful discussions with my classmates. The course challenged me to think critically about different perspectives and ideas while helping me develop stronger analytical and communication skills. The conversations we had in class made the readings even more meaningful and were one of the highlights of my academic experience.

Career goals

I am currently pursuing a degree in Biology on the pre-med track, with the goal of attending medical school after graduation. I have a strong interest in neuroscience and hope to become a neurosurgeon in the future.

Ideal way to spend a free night

When I am not studying in Butler Library, I enjoy taking advantage of everything New York City has to offer. I love spending time in the city, whether that means attending Broadway shows, watching sports games, going to ballet performances, or exploring other fun activities around town. One of my favorite ways to unwind is sharing dinner with friends and catching up after a busy week. These experiences help me maintain a healthy balance between academics and my personal life while making the most of my time in New York.
