Hi! My name is Caroline. I have been a San Diego local for 5 years, and I'll be going into my third and last year at UCSD this fall. I believe I can fairly answer your questions about UCSD and give you proper insight into the San Diego experience.

Describe your college experience
Transitioning from high school to college felt daunting until I moved in and met my roommates. The UC Socially Dead rumors are false, because I have had an amazing experience as it pertains to being social, making friends, and joining active organizations. For my third year, I'll be commuting from home in Carlsbad, but I have spent my first two years in Seventh College dorms.
Tip for future students
My biggest tip is to join an organization that meets consistently in something you're excited about. For me, that was Speech & Debate where I have met my best friends. You can choose to join a bunch of organizations, or choose a couple that mean something to you. I chose to invest my time into the latter option. Choose small classes if you have the option; take the 1-unit seminar classes for fun as a freshman if you have the opportunity. I connect with my professors most often in these smaller classes.
Favorite class
I have too many to choose from so I'll list them all: ANTH110: The Climate Change Seminar, ANSC146: Global Health Perspective on HIV, LTWL 10: Environmental Literature, ANBI139: Evolution of Human Disease, ANSC184: Food, Culture & Society, ANAR104: Intro to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ANTH105: Climate Change, Race & Inequality.
Career goals
I hope to attend law school after college, or do my masters abroad (or both!)
