Outgoing Psych & HRM major, tennis fan, & study spot expert and
I'm a Psychology & HRM double major with my sights set on becoming an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist. I moved across the country knowing exactly zero people, and somehow this place turned into be home — quirky traditions, weird-but-wonderful dining hall combos, and all. You'll usually catch me chalked up at the Academic Building (best chairs on campus, but hands down!), chilling by myself, or playing tennis with friends. Pro tip: learn the bus system early, and definitely bring a fan since the dorms don't have AC!

Describe your college experience
I feel like I'm having a great college experience at Rutgers because I'm able to explore both of my interests—psychology and human resource management—in a way that feels connected and purposeful. The psychology major helps me understand how people think, behave, and interact, while HRM teaches me how to apply that understanding in real-world workplace settings like hiring, training, and conflict resolution. Together, they give me a unique perspective on the human side of organizations. Between the engaging classes, the diverse campus community, and the countless opportunities to get involved, I feel like I'm not just earning a degree but actually building the skills and connections I need for my future career. Rutgers gives me the perfect balance of challenge, support, and opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
Tip for future students
Tip for Future Students Learn the bus system early—download the Rutgers bus app, figure out your routes before classes start, and always leave extra time because buses can be crowded or delayed. Also, many dorms don’t have AC, so bring a strong fan, keep your window open when you can, and be ready for a hot move-in and early fall. Knowing both of these ahead of time would’ve saved me a lot of stress.

Career goals
After college, I hope to become an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist. I plan to pursue a graduate degree in I/O psychology and eventually work with organizations to improve hiring, training, employee well-being, leadership, and workplace culture—using psychological research to make workplaces both more effective and more supportive for employees.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night depends on my mood: sometimes it’s just chilling by myself to recharge, and other times it’s playing tennis with friends and enjoying some friendly competition. Either way, it’s relaxed, fun, and a good way to reset.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is the Academic Building because its new, state-of-the-art digital classrooms offer the perfect quiet place to study between classes, complete with the most comfortable chairs.
