Outgoing Marketing Major who loves the social atmosphere BYU has to offer
Hi! I'm Carter, and I'm currently a Marketing Major at BYU! I am going into my last semester at BYU which saddens me because I have loved every second of it. Provo and BYU is the perfect spot for future students who are looking to develop their academic understanding as well as expanding their social presence. I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona in a family of six. Some fun facts about me are I have a twin sister, I am an avid basketball fan, and I enjoy snowboarding at Sundance Resort in Provo.

Describe your college experience
Transitioning into college was hard at first, but BYU offers resources that greatly eased this transition. The BYU and Provo environment is filled with caring professors, respectful students, and stunning nature. I have had an amazing experience attending Brigham Young University and as much as I am excited to graduate and move onto the next stage in life, I will forever cherish the memories I made at BYU.
Tip for future students
My number one tip for future students is to understand that in order to succeed at BYU or any university, you have to dedicate time to studying. You will not pass your classes if you don't study and have a desire to understand the material. However, make sure that you are finding new hobbies so you can handle your stress.
Favorite class
Consumer Behavior and Market Research
Career goals
After college, I hope to become a full-time business analyst at a medium-sized corporation where I will have a direct impact on their success. In addition, I am preparing to marry my fiance so I want to become the best husband and future father to her along with out future kids.
Ideal way to spend a free night
On an average free night, I would typically spend my time in the library if I had homework or studying to complete. If I was caught up on work, I would be playing basketball in the Richards Building or hanging out with my friend's playing pickleball at their apartment.
High school or secondary school
Mountain View School
Favorite spot on campus
Campus is filled with amazing study spots and peaceful areas. My favorite spots on campus include the Library, Tanner Building Study Rooms, Wilkinson Center, the duck ponds, LaVell Edwards stadium, and the Marriott Center. A lot of my favorite memories were made at these locations which is why I love these spots and would recommend them to future students.
