My name is Mikey, I’m a pre-law freshman, I’m so excited to be here at BYU this year! I love anything outside and spend most of my time hiking, swimming, skiing, skateboarding, and fishing. I love sports and this year I’m on a BYU intermural basketball team, as well as the BYU Dunk team!

Describe your college experience

I’ve had an amazing transition into BYU, it’s been so good to meet new people and be in this environment that really is so unique. I never would have guessed that all the teachers and people would be so kind and sympathetic and that the classes would be so challenging and engaging. I’m learning more than ever and I’m so grateful to be here!

Tip for future students

Do the reading for your classes and it’ll all be okay! Anybody can learn anything it’s just a matter of working hard!

Favorite class

American Heritage has been incredible because it’s challenged me to develop ways of thinking that I didn’t previously have, and refined how I think of politics and our nation.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love to go on dates and meet new people, some of my favorite activities are skiing skateboarding, singing, cliff jumping and tumbling!

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the library. It’s so fun to have such a good resource so close by. There’s always labs and help desks, and friends that are willing to help out. When they say that BYU is a temple of learning I think of the library!
