Outgoing Finance major, huge BYU and Cosmo the Cougar fan!

Hi! My name is Luke, I'm a sophmore at BYU studying finance. I recently got off my mission, in Eugene, Oregon. I've lived in South Jordan most of my life, and grew up with a father who loves BYU. I grew up going to Football and Basketball games, and am continuing that while I'm attending BYU. I love to do pretty much anything. Baseball, Soccer, Pickelball, Spikeball, Wake Surfing, Wake Boarding, Skiiing, and so much more. I also recently have started to do some rock climbing, bouldering, and recently got to repel into some caves. I'm the youngest of 3 kids, one older brother and one older sister. I love living in Utah, and love being at BYU. GO COUGS!

Describe your college experience

So far my college experience has been amazing. There is a certain feel about campus, while walking here you can feel the spirit, and feel how inviting everyone is. I've never been somewhere where so many people are eager to talk to eachother. The professors are amazing, they are funny, interactive, and very willing to help. There are so many different resources and oppurtunities on campus, and they also always have food!

Tip for future students

The month before school starts make sure you are aware of all your classes, and required textbooks. Most importantly come with an open mind. BYU can be a transformational experience, but it's all up to you and your atttitude.

Favorite class

Acc 200. I'm getting to learn some of the basics of accounting, and I've found it to be very beneficial, and quite enjoyable. Accounting is like another language, so It's fun to be able to learn the in's and out's of that, along with learning how to work with numbers!

Career goals

I hope to get in a finance career, working with numbers for a corporation. Later on I hope to rent out apartments, or maybe own a mcdonalds. Something that can help me create more passive income.

Ideal way to spend a free night

If I were to have a free night, I would want to spend it with my friends, doing whatever fun thing was available, or we would come up with something of our own.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot is the Marriot Center! There are countless events held there. The most notable ones are sports games, specifically BYU's basketball team, and they also have an amazing devotion every Tuesday at 11:00. The atmosphere their is ecstatic, you can feel the energy and hype!
