Describe your college experience
Transferring to UVA has been an exciting challenge. Nursing is a rigorous program, but I've enjoyed becoming part of the UVA community and meeting students from many different backgrounds. As a transfer student, I understand what it's feels like to start somewhere new, so I enjoy helping others navigate that transition.
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to ask questions and get involved early. Attend office hours, explore student organizations, and take time to get to know Grounds beyond your classes. Building connections makes a big difference in your college experience.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Health Assessment because it combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical skills. It's one of the first courses where you begin thinking and practicing like a nurse.
Career goals
I hope to become a ICU nurse and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. I'm especially interested in continuing to grow my clinical skills while making a meaningful impact on patients and their families.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Grabbing dinner with friends, exploring Charlottesville, finding a good coffee shop to study in, or relaxing with a movie after a busy week.
High school or secondary school
Appomattox Regional Governor's School in Petersburg, VA
Previous college
I transferred from VCU in Richmond after completing my nursing prerequisites. The transfer process was smooth overall, and I found that many of my credits transferred successfully. Moving to UVA gave me the opportunity to continue my nursing education while experiencing a new campus and community.
