Nursing | Sophomore | Beta Theta Pi VP of Recruitment
My name is Sam, and I am a sophomore at Auburn studying Nursing. I am from Auburn, so I know and love this places very much. I am a member of Beta Theta Pi and have been since August 2025. I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, watching sports, and more specifically, going to Auburn sporting events. I am also a tour guide for Auburn Athletics Facilities, such as any stadium and practice facility. I have been giving tours there for over a year and I absolutely love to give tours and meeting new people. I have helped a lot of people grow in their knowledge and love for Auburn, and I hope to meet and persuade more people to come to this amazing school that will forever hold a special place in their heart. War Eagle!

Describe your college experience
My time at Auburn has been incredible! It can be very hard at times, but it is so rewarding when you take the time and prepare yourself for the big exam. The professors here are very kind and want you to succeed. The student body is so diverse and welcoming and you can always find your group of people to spend your time here with.
Tip for future students
I never had to study much in high school, but now I start studying anywhere from two weeks to a week and a half before the exam just because the material is much harder to understand. If your professor recommends a textbook reading, please do it. It will help you understand the next lecture and feel better prepared as you go through the semester. Don't be scared to ask questions or go to your professors' office hours because it shows dedication and may pay off if you have a close grade. College really is a good time, but in the end, the education is the main reason you're here, so make it worth it in the end.
Favorite class
Medical Terminology was my favorite class. It was online, which I am not a big fan of, but the material was so interesting and fun to me. On a more credit filler class, Bowling has been a really fun class. We go to the bowling alley twice a week and they do teach you how to bowl better and how different leagues work as well. There is also some Physical Education aspect and understand what is proper exercise and what's not. Everyone finds their own things fun, but these are definitely two of mine.
Career goals
I plan on working in an ICU as a RN for a few years, then going to Anesthesia school to become a Nurse Anesthetist. I am very open to moving anywhere after and hope to get a good job somewhere.
Ideal way to spend a free night
If I have been really busy during that week, I really enjoy just getting some dinner to-go and go home and watch any sport that is on TV and play video games with friends. I enjoy going and playing pickleball with friends as well, but a chill night in my apartment is never a bad decision.
