Mechanical engineer major that loves this beautiful campus

What's up? I'm Adam, a sophomore on his way to become a mechanical engineer! I can tell you that college life just takes the introvertedness out of you. I was SUPER shy coming out of high school but college life makes you have to talk with others and get out of your comfort zone. I love walking around this beautiful campus and all the hikes and spots around it too! I'm willing to show you around campus so that you too can find a favorite study spot and just see the beauty in all the extracurricular things to do.

Describe your college experience

The transition went pretty smooth for me. I was kinda ready to get out of the house and start on my own and it has been AMAZING. I have loved every part of living on my own. It's hard sometimes having to fit everything into your schedule but it is so rewarding to be free of the rules of home and get out on your own to live your own life.

Tip for future students

I would say that you should make to be diligent in your schoolwork. The worst thing is to fall behind and not know what is happening. The challenge of living on your own is finding the balance between your social life and your school life. Make sure that you are getting what needs to be done done but also have fun!

Favorite class

I'm a big math fan, so I'd have to go with Calc 2 because of both the teacher and the things that I learned that are applicable to my future career.

Career goals

I'm not quite sure exactly what I want to do but I'd like to do researching for some company in the engineering field.

Ideal way to spend a free night

The best way to spend a free night for me is to hang out with friends. Whatever that may be, life's always better when you're doing stuff with others. You could walk to a restaurant or just around campus or even stay at home and play games or watch a movie.

High school or secondary school

Pullman High School

Favorite spot on campus

I don't have a specific place that's my favorite but I'd definitely say anywhere outdoor! I love being able to see the mountains right next to campus and sitting out in nature (even if there are people walking all around you)

Meeting point

Joseph F. Smith Building Courtyard on the Brigham Young University campus
