Marine Bio major at Muir College
Hello! My name is Nohely, a sophomore on the SIO field and a proud student-athlete. I am an international student from Mexico who understands the fear of a new experience, but in less than a year I found meaningful friendships and a warm home at UCSD. When i'm not in the library you can find me running around campus, swimming/surfing at the beach, or trying a new food spot around campus. I can introduce you to all the hidden resources that UCSD has to offer and provide the best insight on how to balance a great academic and social life

Describe your college experience
UCSD breaks all the stereotypes, moving far for college was scary and hard at first, but after my first year here I can confidently say there's nothing to be scared about
Tip for future students
Don't be scared to approach people, even on your walk to class, everyone in campus is willing to have a small conversation.
Favorite class
SIO 90, a seminar for marine biology majors where every week we heard from a different research that was ongoing at Scripps Instution of Oceanography
Career goals
Ocean research
Ideal way to spend a free night
Exploring new neighborhoods of San Diego, like mission bay or sunset cliffs
High school or secondary school
Latino College Preparatory Academy
Favorite spot on campus
5th floor of RWAC because it has an amazing rooftop to enjoy food, watch the sunset, study and see the ocean
Meeting point
Triton Fountain on the University of California San Diego campus
