Klara- Undergraduate @ Vanderbilt studying Climate and Law
Hi! My name is Klara, and I am a rising Junior at Vanderbilt University. I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but quickly fell in love with Nashville. I am majoring in Climate Studies and minoring in Legal Studies and French, with hopes to practice environmental law one day. In my free time, I love to dance, go to yoga classes, explore nature, and cook. I am involved in a lot of different clubs and extracurriculars on campus, so I hope I can give you a great, well-rounded tour :)

Describe your college experience
I'm originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and come from a family where no one attended college out of state. So, when I got accepted into Vanderbilt Early Decision cycle #2, I was nervous, to say the least. However, the second I stepped on campus, I felt everything click into place. I was blessed with an amazing roommate, friend group, and academic experience. I'm happy to say that all of those things still apply. Vanderbilt has given me the liberty to explore the widest breadth of academic interests, while immersing myself in new social circles. I have taken advantage of every second I've spent at Vanderbilt, and could not be more satisfied with the results. Vanderbilt makes everything you've ever wanted to achieve possible.
Tip for future students
Talk to EVERYONE! The keys to open some of the most important doors in your life are hiding in plain sight. And if you're nervous-- remember everyone else is too.
Favorite class
MUSL 1670: Rap and Hip Hop Culture Rap and Hip Hop Culture (Blair) was one of, if not my favorite, classes I've taken at Vanderbilt. As not only a fan of rap and hip hop music but also someone who grew up doing hip hop dance, I found this class to be a fantastic chronological history of one of the most influential and culturally significant art forms. It was different from my typical area of study, but so interesting.
Career goals
Ultimate Goal: Practice Environmental Law. Although I definitely want to attend law school, I want to take some time off and work in two (very different) fields. I would like to continue pursuing my passion for dancing through being on an NBA or NFL dance team, in addition to working as a paralegal at a law office in the city I'm located in.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Walking to a yoga class by campus and getting dinner with friends after!
