Kelley Student Who Loves Getting Involved and Exploring Bloomington
Hey! I'm a sophomore studying Finance with a minor in Psychology at IU's Kelley School of Business. Coming into college, I didn't know a single person, so I made it a goal to put myself out there and get involved in as much as I could. Since then, I've joined a business fraternity, gotten involved in several clubs, and started training as a cyclist for the Little 500. Outside of class, you'll probably find me playing competitive pickleball, going on long bike rides, hanging out with friends, or finding somewhere new to explore. I'm a big believer in making the most of every opportunity, and I'd love to share my experiences and help you get a feel for what life at IU is really like!

Describe your college experience
Coming into college, I didn't know a single person, which made the transition a little intimidating at first. However, I was immediately welcomed into a social floor in my residence hall, which made it much easier to meet people and find my place at IU. From there, I made it a goal to push myself outside my comfort zone, joining different clubs and getting involved in as many opportunities as I could. Since then, I've joined a business fraternity, made some of my closest friends, and now live with several of them. Throughout my college experience, I've tried to maintain a balance between pushing myself academically, building meaningful relationships, and continuing to grow personally. Fitness has also been a big part of that, and I'm currently training as a biker for the Little 500. Overall, college has been an incredible opportunity to challenge myself, meet people from all different backgrounds, and grow in ways I wouldn't have expected when I first arrived.
Tip for future students
My biggest piece of advice is to throw yourself out there and enjoy doing it! College is full of opportunities, but it's up to you to take advantage of them. Join clubs, attend events, introduce yourself to new people, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Getting involved is one of the best ways to meet people, discover interests you never knew you had, and grow as a person. Even if something doesn't seem like your thing at first, give it a shot! You never know who you'll meet or what opportunities might come from it. College is what you make of it, so make the most of every chance you get.
Favorite class
My favorite class is Human Decision Making because it gives us the opportunity to dive into why people make the decisions they do, how their environment influences those choices, and how we can apply what we learn to make better decisions ourselves. What makes the class even more interesting is that our professor brings these concepts to life through interactive, in-class experiments that allow us to see human decision-making in action.
Career goals
After college, I hope to pursue a career in consulting, ideally in Chicago. More than anything, though, I want to find a career that challenges me, surrounds me with people I enjoy working with, and gives me opportunities to continuously grow and make a meaningful impact. Ultimately, my goal is to build a life that feels fulfilling both professionally and personally. I want to travel the world, experience new things, and eventually raise a family. To me, success isn't just about what I accomplish in my career, but also the relationships I build, the people I impact, and the experiences I have along the way.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is anything spontaneous! I love switching things up, whether that means playing pickleball, hanging out at a friend's house, going on a date with my girlfriend, taking a long bike ride, or finding a cool place to hike. Some nights, it might even mean packing up and heading to another city, visiting friends at a different school, or going camping for the weekend. I'm always looking for something new to do, and I think the best nights are often the ones you don't plan.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus has to be the pickleball courts by Briscoe. There's always a great atmosphere, with people coming out to play at all hours of the day. What I love most is how competitive it gets, especially with so many talented players involved in Club Pickleball. You can show up expecting to play a few casual games and end up staying for hours because you don't want to leave on a loss. It's a great way to take a break from schoolwork and meet some new competition.
