Hi! My name is Misha Jordan, but I go by MJ. I transferred to USC after one year at a community college through the Trojan Transfer Program. As a SoCal native and from a SC family, I have practically grown up at the USC campus going to football games and tailgates as a yearly ritual with my family and their friends. I am very much an LA local having grown up surfing in Malibu and going to high school near there, but am no stranger to the city!

Moorpark, California, United States I grew up in a little suburb town called, Moorpark, which is about a less than 20 minute drive from Malibu for reference. My hometown is about an hour from USC without traffic.

Describe your college experience

Really easy since it was so close to home for me and USC feel like a home. I am super close to all the people I have met here and am so similar to all of them which really helped.

Tip for future students

Embrace the alumni network. I have gotten so many shadowing positions, networking opportunities, and even job opportunities through the Trojan network, which is so strong.

Favorite class

My favorite classes have been upper division biology classes focused on environmental biology which is different since I am a pre-med but the professors have been great and I'v had the most fun and friends in those classes.

Career goals

I hope to go to medical school.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I'll spend a free night eating at a cool restaurant in downtown with my friends.

Previous college

I transferred from Moorpark College. I had a good transfer experience with a USC advisor helping me plan my courses and my transition process even before I got to USC which made the whole thing feel safe and prepared me.
