Eliana MNew

Hello! My name is Eliana, and I'm so excited to talk with you. I'm currently a Junior at Mizzou, with plans to intern with Walmart in the summer of 2026, and graduate in May of 2027. I grew up in the area and have dabbled in many hobbies, so I'm very familiar with the culture and activities here. Choosing where to go to school is a big decision, and hopefully, with my knowledge of Mizzou and Columbia, I can help you get closer to finding what's right for you!

Describe your college experience

My first year at Mizzou was a bit rocky. Learning to be a college student was a little difficult for me. I tried a lot and figured out what worked and what didn't. Since my sophomore year, however, I have been studying a major I love,

Tip for future students

Try anything and everything that interests you! If I hadn't tried the club associated with my major, ATAM, I never would have been able to have a leadership role as a sophomore, network with Walmart Fashion Merchandising executives, work at a fashion show, and meet so many amazing people! You never know what can come from just trying something.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been Fashion History. In that class, we learned how and why humans have been dressing the way we have for decades. To be able to learn the specifications of WWII fabric restrictions to the political and societal movements that inspired the fashion of the 70s was amazing!

Career goals

I'm not sure yet! I am open to all kinds of experiences, whether that be moving across the country, staying in Missouri, working a job that aligns with my major, or doing something I never thought I would do. I'm truly excited to see what opportunities await me once I graduate.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal night would be to either stay in and do one of my many hobbies (baking, reading, sewing, to name a few) or hanging out with my friends, anywhere and everywhere.
