Hello! I am Elyse, I am a current undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University pursuing a degree in cognitive studies, educational studies, and two minors in data science and mathematics. Outside of class, I am always looking to get involved in something new which makes me the perfect guide for giving you a list of all the amazing things you can experience at Vanderbilt! I love exploring campus from finding a cute corner to study in to getting into a new organization to gain a new experience!

Describe your college experience

The transition to Vanderbilt couldn't have been smoother! I have made it my personal goal to take advantage of the college experience and try something new every semester. So far, I have joined a STEM sorority, tried musical theatre, created clay art, done analog photography, and this semester I am planning to try swing dancing.

Tip for future students

One thing I wish I knew before starting college is what will actually be useful in a dorm, and what truly isn't!

Favorite class

Educational Psychology! The class was fun, interactive, and super interesting. My favorite part was getting to build a final project around my own personal career interests and then highlighting key components that were related to the content we learned over the semester!

Career goals

I hope to go to graduate school after college and continue my career in research!

Ideal way to spend a free night

A free night for me varies from day-to-day. Some nights I am out on the town, and some nights I find a cute little spot to knock out some homework. Most nights, I try to go to at least one club event because every event is an experience that I might only get once so I might as well take advantage of it!

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is Garland Hall at the moment! The open concept design on the inside makes it one of my favorite spots to sit between classes and study! Not only that, but the natural lighting is to die for!
