University of Maryland
I’m a rising senior, passionate about helping future Terps find their path!!
Hi, I’m Erin! I’m a Finance and Marketing major at the University of Maryland. I just returned from an incredible semester studying abroad in Barcelona, where I gained a deeper appreciation for global business and culture. On campus, I stay active as a member of UMD Club Field Hockey, Club Pickleball, and UMD Survivor, and I’m also involved in Greek life.

Describe your college experience
My college experience has gone really well so far! The transition was smoother than I expected, thanks to getting involved in clubs and activities. Through organizations like Greek life, Club Field Hockey, Pickleball, and UMD Survivor, I’ve found amazing friends and a strong sense of community that’s made campus feel like home.
Tip for future students
Get involved early! It’s easy to fall into a pattern of doing nothing, especially at first. If you’re an in-state student, it’s even more important to branch out and not just hang out with high school friends. I did that at first, and it made it harder to meet new people. Once I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined clubs, everything changed for the better!
Favorite class
I’ve had a lot of great professors who’ve taught amazing classes, but one that really stands out is Jeff Miller. I took BMGT110 with him during my sophomore year, and it quickly became one of my favorite classes. His teaching style was not only effective but also incredibly engaging—he brought humor into every lecture, which made the material more enjoyable and memorable.
Career goals
After college, I’d love to work in the sports industry. Combining my passion for business with my love for sports feels like a dream career, and I’m excited to explore opportunities where I can bring the two together.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night is probably during the summer, after a day at the beach—my happy place. I’d watch the sunset, then get ready for a dinner, either made at home or going out for seafood with friends and family.
