I am an outgoing psychology major passionate about helping others succeed!

Hi! I'm Lauren, a transfer student to Brigham Young University and a psychology major. I moved to Provo this fall and was honestly quite terrified of a new environment. I can confidently say I have fallen in love with this beautiful city and all that this campus has to offer! You'll probably find me studying whether that be in those quiet corners of the library or with my classmates over some snacks and lots of laughs. I love the welcoming environment the students and faculty create and believe BYU is one big family and that community truly makes our campus feel like home. I am so excited to help others experience that same feeling. Whether you're looking to find the best study spots, honesty about student life, or just someone to show you the ropes, I would love to show you around and help you figure out where you fit!

Describe your college experience

I have had a wonderful experience in my transition to college. Although a new environment can be tricky, Brigham Young University offers many resources to help every student be successful.

Tip for future students

I think I would advise any student to use every resource available because they are almost always free! Your teachers and teacher's assistants are there for your benefit and are your best chance at understanding and improving.

Favorite class

I have loved my psychology class because of the new perspective I have gained through thought-provoking questions, discussions, and interactive lectures.

Career goals

I hope to work with children coming out of or going through traumatic life situations through counseling. I would love to use my understanding of the Spanish language to broaden my reach and be able to help any child with a lack of resources.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I like to spend a free night going for a walk and talking to family. I like to cook a nice dinner and end the day with a good movie or book.

Favorite spot on campus

I love the Wilkinson's Center because of the variety of activities you can participate in. From bowling to comfortable study chairs, the Wilkinson's Center is a great place to spend time.
