I am an outgoing, chill pre-vet major that loves the beauty/culture MSU offers.
Hi! I'm Catarina, a pre-vet/animal science major that comes from a small town in South-West MI. I am a proud animal mom with two horses and two dogs and I am one of the two co-captains of the western equestrian team here at MSU! I have lived on campus for going on two years now and I can easily say that this has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I never thought that a campus so large could make me feel so cozy and loved yet here I am talking to you about it. You will usually find me around Holmes Hall studying, in the library, Anthony Hall, or Wells Hall. I love to hang around the river and the forest trails and just be, and I would love to show you the art of appreciating campus for its beauty! If that sounds fun for you and you have questions about life here on campus, bring them!

Describe your college experience
I come from a small town with a small school district so I was worried about the large class setting and the large campus. Turns out that I love being able to walk to class and "disappear" in large lectures or in certain subjects be more involved and asking questions and being recognized. I found it easier than I thought to get help and find friends in my classes! I choose Lyman Briggs to be the college I went into because of its close knit, small school appeal, I found it very helpful to start out in classes of only 30-ish kids.
Tip for future students
Go to orientation experiences and make friends from your building, I became friends with my suitemates last year through a t-shirt dying experience through Lyman Briggs.
Favorite class
My favorite class that I have taken so far is the Introduction to Beef Cattle Management Class (ANS 222) because it lets you work with actual cattle on the beef cattle at the farm on campus and by the end of the class the group becomes pretty tight knit.
Career goals
I hope to go into vet school and get a DVM degree, I am not sure if I want to do veterinary medicine or research at the moment.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love playing cards with my friends and watching movies. I also love crafting and going on walks!
High school or secondary school

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus has to be the forest/river trail. I walk it all the time in order to go to classes and I just fell in love with the river and the trees during the fall and winter. It is easily one of the best and prettiest parts of campus.
