Hi, I'm Oras, a UWC Atlantic International Baccalaureate Diploma graduate and Dual-Degree Mechanical Engineering undergraduate at Davidson College and Washington University in St. Louis, with multifaceted interests and academic research spanning mechanical engineering, physics, economics, finance, and music, complemented by experience in capital markets and entrepreneurship. Describe your college experience

My transition to Davidson has been both demanding and rewarding. Coming from UWC Atlantic, I have found the academic environment familiar in its emphasis on independent thinking, while college has given me greater responsibility for shaping my own academic and extracurricular interests.

Tip for future students

Engage early, ask questions, and make an effort to be part of the community. you will get far more out of college when you put yourself out there.

Favorite class

Political Economy, as it offers grounded explanations to understand the decisions that govern societies. It is my favorite class because I am interested in how political institutions and economic forces shape one another.

Career goals

Study mechanical engineering and get into a career path of aerospace engineering

Sloan Music Center is the absolute heart of my campus experience. Whether I am discovering a hidden room to practice in or completely losing myself in one of its spacious rehearsal halls, Sloan is the one place on campus where I can always find my focus, my passion, and my purpose.
