Describe your college experience
As I near graduation, I can confidently say that I wouldn't trade my time at FSU for the world! I initially wanted to go to a program out of state, but chose FSU for the scholarship opportunities, so I came here skeptical of what my college experience would turn out to be. However, my concerns were quickly subdued and I learned to love FSU. This school is unique because it truly gives you every aspect of the college experience. Freshman and sophomore year, I met my best friends, partied, and did everything you'd expect from a typical college student. Junior and senior year, I took advantage of all the amazing opportunities that this school has to offer - from leadership, to research, to internships, I've truly been set up for success. As a graduating senior, I've made the best friends and memories here and will be attending Harvard in the fall for graduate study - two things that may not have happened if I didn't choose FSU. So, whether you want to just have fun and find yourself or focus on your academics and build your resume, Florida State is the place where truly anyone can find what they're looking for.
Tip for future students
Use university resources, such as NoleCentral for FSU, to learn more about the different student organizations that you'd like to get involved in and follow their social media over summer! In fall, visit their tables at Market Wednesdays or Involvement Fairs to speak directly with their leadership. By starting freshman year with an idea of what you're interested in, you can apply for opportunities early rather than waiting for application cycles sophomore year.
Favorite class
Terror and Politics with Dr. Naama Nagar! Though I came into FSU initially pursuing a degree in International Affairs, her discussions on religious violence and terrorism inspired me to get a second degree in Religion, where I've solidified my career goals!
Career goals
After college, I will be attending Harvard Divinity School for my Master's in Theological Studies! Long term, I want to work in intelligence, focusing on religious violence in the Middle East and improving strategies for deradicalization.
