Hi, I'm Adeline! I'm studying Philosophy on the Pre-Med track.
Hey! My name is Adeline and I'm from a small town in North Idaho called Coeur d'Alene. I'm planning on concentrating in Philosophy on the Pre-Med Track. I love trying out new coffee shops, playing tennis/pickleball, listening to music, cooking, volunteering, and spending quality time with my friends. I love being a mentor towards others and will do the best I can to answer any of your questions honestly and accurately.

Describe your college experience
Brown might be favorite place in the world. The people I've met are kind, humble, yet insanely impressive and smart. The campus and my dorm room feel like home. My classes have been highly engaging and have challenged both my existing knowledge and academic skills. I would recommend coming here to almost every high school student over any other university.
Tip for future students
1. Stay out of your dorm for the first month! Get out, meet people. Talk to other students at your orientation events, in your dorm lounges, classes, and at every opportunity you see. 2. Self care! Going to the gym, eating balanced meals, getting 8 hrs of sleep, and staying hydrated has made my experience much more smooth. 3. Get involved! Go to the Brown Club Fair and sign up for every email list that looks interesting to you. Later, filter through your email and join 2-4 clubs that pique your interest. 4. Be proactive! This is my best tip and was hard to learn as someone with a type B personality. Reach out to people you've met and schedule a meal together. Email your TA or professor to go to office hours when you are struggling with something. When you want something, act. Ask questions, research online, and find ways to make it happen.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my first-year seminar Introduction to Italian Film. I am somewhat of a film lover and have enjoyed branching to older foreign movies. The readings have significantly deepened my understanding of European history, focusing on fascism, Mussolini, pop culture, etc.
Career goals
I am currently on the pre-med track and hope to apply to medical school. I am interested in specializing in psychiatry.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love planning a hangout for my friends whether that be a venture into Providence, eating at a sit-down restaurant, hosting a trivia battle, board games, or karaoke.
