Clemson University
Hey future Tiger! I’m Desmond—MBA Student and Air Force ROTC Cadet
I started undergrad at Clemson in August 2015, graduated in December 2019 with a degree in Operations Management, and now I’m back with even more to share. As a proud Clemson grad who’s lived it all: game day chills in Death Valley, late-night study grinds, secret campus spots, and the kind of memories you’ll still laugh about years from now. Whether you're here for the academics, the social scene, or just want to figure out what the campus has to offer, I’ve got you.

Describe your college experience
As the first man in my family to attend college, I was excited, a little overwhelmed, and not totally sure where to start or what to expect. I'm also the first to attend a large university such as Clemson, so it took a lot of unlearning bad habits and adopting new ones. Overall, every year got better and I thoroughly enjoyed my undergrad experience and memories made.
Tip for future students
Build relationships early with students and faculty; get out of your comfort zone; know your capacity and don't overload your class schedule; find a mentor; learn about your resources
Favorite class
My favorite courses were Entrepreneurial Mindset and Operations Planning & Control because they applied real world concepts that I would actually have to use after graduation. Ops Planning & Control was by far the most challenging for me but I also appreciated the experience and insight it provided.
Career goals
To commission into the Air Force as an officer and leverage my background while serving. I also intend to learn as many skills possible to transition successfully back into civilian life in the private sector.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Go downtown with friends or figure out what events are happening around campus when there aren't any home sports games.
