Hello, I am a second-year student at UCSC, with a focus on Psychology!

I love utilizing the bus system for side quests, which involve things like getting a beverage downtown and tanning at the beach! I love going to the gym with friends, as well as playing tennis by Rachel Carson College. The campus is so beautiful and a great way to relieve stress by taking a walk in the forest shortcuts, I myself am guilty of doing this!

Describe your college experience

I have been fortunate to have a great first year when attending UCSC. I quickly got acclimated to the campus in terms of navigating, and gained a supportive social group. The people I surrounded myself joined my on both my academic and athletic endeavors.

Tip for future students

When first attending UCSC, I definitely recommend taking advantage of Cornucopia (club rush), and using your first day to befriend the people on your floor. It's honesty a priveledge to live on a frosh floor because everyone can relate to each other in a way, and you get to experience your firsts together! Likewise, I recommend Mchenry library for grinding on things academically because the library itself is beautiful and accompanied by a lovely cafe!

Favorite class

I loved taking "Introduction to Psychology." I found myself so immersed in the ciriculum I was learning and I genuinely enjoyed being present in the lectures. I felt like the weekly quizzes where good to hold us accountable in terms of doing the readings and attending lectures. Likewise, this class instructed us to participate in research studies, which I felt was beneficial for people to discover if research is a field they'd be interested in.

Career goals

After getting my bachelors degree I aim to attend graduate school and study occupational therapy. I love working with kids and I honestly believe this is a career path I'll enjoy.

Ideal way to spend a free night

A fun night for me entails cozying up in my bed with a face mask and watching romantic comedies. Those always bring me such comfort and I can safely say it's a great way to end the night and recooperate.

High school or secondary school

I attended Angelo Rodriguez High School, in Fairfield California.
