GW Business + Hospitality Student Happy to Answer Anything!
Hi! My name is Bianca. I like to sculpt, make new friends, go out, and of course, help students get an honest look at what going to GWU is like. If you have questions about classes, jobs, dorms, or campus life, I am happy to share my experiences.

Describe your college experience
My experience at GWU has been busy in the best way. I've been involved in a ton of different school organizations, met people from all over the world, balanced part-time work and internships with classes, and explored DC. Since I came in with quite a few dual enrollment credits, I have been learning to navigate graduating on an accelerated timeline, which has been both exciting and challenging. One of my favorite things about GWU and, to a further extent, DC, is there is always something fun happening, and it’s usually free. The Library of Congress does movie nights, the Smithsonian does tons of events. You can always get outside if you want to, and since it is college, you can always find someone to drag with you.
Tip for future students
Do not let what you read about the Vern deter you. I started my first year there, and I was NOT happy. But honestly, the area was super nice. (I had originally wanted to go to a women's college in the Northeast, and it really had that vibe.) And it was such a close-knit community. The Vern makes it so easy to not get stuck in the Foggy Bottom bubble. If you have to take a bus anyways, you are much more likely to venture. Also, do not listen to a girl on TikTok about what to buy for your dorm; you will spend a thousand dollars on things you do not need.
Favorite class
Philosophy of Love, Sex, and Friendship has been my all-time favorite class. The professor's teaching process was contingent on students giving 3 weekly video essays on their opinions and readings on a weekly topic. The professor then reached out with her own video essay discussing your points and ideas and recommending ideas for you to consider. It was such an amazing personalized approach, and it made the class so enjoyable.
Career goals
I would love to work in Event Planning and Management and have even debated going to Funeral Directing school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
There are unlimited awesome things to do on campus, but I love to walk down to Georgetown, pick up a baked and wired cupcake, see what the Brandy Melville got in, and invite a friend for a movie at AMC Georgetown. (A list represents)

Favorite spot on campus
My absolute favorite place on campus is actually on the Vern ( shameful I know). Across from Somers Hall in the farthest left side of the academic building, there is this awesome classroom that has not been renovated in decades. It has black and white tile and an old blackboard, and nothing gets me focused quite like this room. It is nice and quiet and the perfect place to lock in.
