Global UCSD Triton Ready to Guide You
Hi, I’m a bioengineering major at UC San Diego. I grew up between Lebanon, Turkey, and Texas, which gave me a love for meeting new people and adapting to different cultures. I enjoy sharing my experiences and helping others feel at home at UCSD.

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to UCSD was both exciting and challenging. Coming from a multicultural background, I found UCSD’s diversity refreshing and supportive. The quarter system is fast-paced, but it’s taught me time management and how to balance academics with exploring all the opportunities on campus.
Tip for future students
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek out resources early, UCSD has so many! Whether it’s tutoring centers, student orgs, or just reaching out to classmates, building a support system makes the transition much easier. Also, explore San Diego, it’s just as much a part of the UCSD experience as campus life. No one really knows what they are doing so let people help you!
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been Chem 7L, the chemistry lab. I enjoyed it because it was very hands-on and helped me connect what I learned in lectures to real experiments. It gave me a stronger foundation in lab skills that I know will be important in bioengineering and research.
Career goals
After college, I hope to pursue a PhD, work in medicine and work with children, combining my background in bioengineering with my interest in pediatrics. I’d love to bridge research, technology, and healthcare to make a meaningful impact.
Ideal way to spend a free night
On a free night, I like spending time with friends, whether that’s baking together, exploring La Jolla, or catching a sunset at the beach. I also enjoy relaxing with music or a good book when I want downtime.
