Hey! My name is Gerwin, I study Computer Science at Stanford on the AI track. As a rising senior, I know a lot about the different niches at Stanford and have been involved or know of the many different activities on campus. On campus I play video games with SVGA, volleyball with the recreational activities, and just hangout. I'm FLI and originally from Alaska. Let me know if you have questions about campus, courses, and opportunities you on campus, I'll be sure to answer.

Describe your college experience
Growing up in rural Alaska was different from the bay, but it was honestly the best decision I've made in my life. I've been surrounded by peers that I've been amazed and inspired by. At Stanford especially, you have this feeling that you miss whenever you go back home/do internships, and I feel that every year. I've been friends that I consider to be my ride or die, and I honestly can't think of anywhere else I want to go.
Tip for future students
It is high pace and the tech world is all-consuming, but you'll find your niche here. You'll learn to love the parts that really make Stanford home to you.
Favorite class
I really loved ASNAMST 126: The Labors of Care, which delved into conversations about care within communities that I am apart of. It really related to my life and such, but I have had a great selection of classes here at Stanford. CS106A is a fun second option :)
Career goals
Software Engineer is the hope, but I am exploring the tech world!
Ideal way to spend a free night
Hang out with friends and randomly make frozen pizza, then spiral and make a lot of other frozen food. Eventually getting different types of sauces and what not and try them all. (This is just one random night I've had).
