Hi! I'm Allison, a rising sophomore at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, double majoring in Marketing and Business Operations & Analytics. I'm also a Fellow in Georgetown's Egon Durban Sports Business Initiative, researching fan engagement and trends in sports tech. On campus, I'm involved with Eating Society and McDonough Women. I'm also part of WIMNA (Women in Motorsports North America), where I've gotten to combine my business interests with things I actually care about outside the classroom. Before college I spent ten years in competitive all-star cheerleading, including time on a nationally ranked team. That background taught me a lot about working well with a team, and it still shows up in how I approach group projects and campus life now. I'm also a huge motorsport fan, especially Formula 1, if you're into that kind of thing. Describe your college experience

Coming to Georgetown from a large public high school in the South, my adjustment wasn't always easy. It took time to find where I fit in, but once I found my friend group, everything got a lot smoother. Georgetown's professors and staff also made a huge difference, they're undeniablhy invested in students, and their support helped ease the transition more than I expected going in.

Tip for future students

Say yes to most opportunities that come your way, even if they feel a little outside your comfort zone. Build your path around what you're genuinely passionate about, not what everyone else says you should do. Get to know your professors — they want to help more than you'd expect. And take the time to find the right group of people; Georgetown is full of incredible people, so don't settle for the first group you meet if it's not the right fit.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been Marketing in a Connected World, a first-year seminar taught by Professor Goodstein. It's honestly the most engaging class I've ever taken — no notes, no tests, but I walked away having learned more than I did in most of my traditional classes. Professor Goodstein has won Professor of the Year multiple times, and it's easy to see why. We still catch up over lunch every so often, which says a lot about the kind of professor he is.

Career goals

My career goal is to work at the intersection of sports and technology, specifically within motorsports. I'm especially drawn to tech partnerships — the deals and collaborations that bring cutting-edge innovation into racing, from data and engineering to fan experience. Georgetown's location and business program have given me real access to people and opportunities in this space, and I'm working to build a career where I get to help shape those partnerships.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal night starts with a nice dinner with my (large) friend group at one of Georgetown's many incredible restaurants, followed by getting ice cream to wrap up the night. There's no shortage of good food around here, so it's easy to make a night out of it.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the Healy Family Student Center. It's a brand new space that's become a hub for studying and seeing friends — there are plenty of rooms and quiet corners if you need to focus, but it's also become a central gathering spot on campus.
