Wake Forest University
Fun, hardworking and athletic
Hi! I'm Isabella! I am 18 years old and a freshman here at Wake Forest. I played lacrosse my entire life, so I play club lacrosse here. I love the balance of fun and hard work that Wake Forest offers. I love meeting new people and learning from the amazing professors. I'm involved in Greek life as well, which was an amazing opportunity to become closer with other girls that share similar values as me.

Describe your college experience
First semester felt like a tough social adjustment for me since I went to a smaller school where I knew everyone in high school. I have always had the security of my close friend group and it took a few weeks to find people that I love here, but everyone is always welcoming and inviting so after the first week I felt as though I fit right in! Joining a sorority also helped me meet people and reconnect with others. I've always had rigorous academics, so I know how to manage my time, which helped me a lot in the transition.
Tip for future students
I would say join as many clubs as you can for the involvement fair, even if you don't plan on keeping them. I joined about 10 and keep up with 2, but still get the emails and know what is going on around me which is nice. I would also recommend reaching out to literally everyone and ask if they want to grab a meal, go on a walk or just hang out to get to know people better.
Favorite class
My favorite class was probably Econ this past semester because it tested my academic ability while also being something I enjoyed. I met one of my best friends through this class as well which made all the late nights worth it!
Career goals
I hope to move to New York City after college and work at a financial company and use my communication, business and marketing skills that I earned from Wake Forest.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night would honestly be to eat a good dinner at one of the amazing restaurants here in Winston-Salem with friends, then come home to my dorm, curl up in my bed and watch a movie or tv show to unwind.
High school or secondary school
I went to St. Anne's-Belfield school in Charlottesville, Virginia for high school.
