Friendly poli sci major ready to share the ins and outs of BYU

Hi! My name is Clayton, a junior studying political science with aspirations for law school. I started at BYU just after getting home from serving a mission in Chile. I came here not knowing nearly anyone, but it’s become a second-home for me. You can usually find me studying on the fifth floor of the library (when I really need to grind) or the second floor (where food’s allowed… I’ll let you in on all the good spots). When I’m not studying, you might catch me at any of the many restaurants on campus, the gym, or maybe at an on campus orchestra concert. I’d love to let you in on all the hidden gems of Provo and BYU.. all the best food places, activities, and study spots. And give you an honest scoop on day to day college life here at BYU.

Describe your college experience

My college experience has been amazing. Spending time on campus is one of my favorite things to do. I transitioned from college after serving a mission for my church in Chile, so it was a big change. I've loved BYU and the culture that surrounds it. It's a very accepting and motivating place.

Tip for future students

A tip that I received and has helped me a lot throughout my college experience is the importance of balance between speding time on yourself and grinding on homework.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far was a class on American Politics that I took a couple of semesters ago. I really like learning about how the system of government works here in the United States. It was interesting to see all the changes it has undergone and the different ways we could make it better.

Career goals

After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan on attending Law School. After Law School, I plan to practive law.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My perfect free night is going to dinner and playing card games with my wife and friends.

High school or secondary school

Pleasant Grove High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus without a doubt is the Library. It's such a good place to socialize and to study. There are differnet spaces for anything you need to do.
