Hi! I'm Paige, a first-year student at UVA, and I'm so excited to give you a glimpse of all the amazing things Grounds has to offer! I'm still undecided about my major, but have been involved in various volunteer organizations such as Pancakes for Parkinsons and the Madison House that have really enriched my student experience here. When I'm not in class, hanging out with friends, or studying at the library, you'll probably find me in the Aquatic and Fitness Center or grabbing a bite to eat on the Corner!

Describe your college experience

I've had a really seamless transition into college so far as an out-of-state student. I've found the people here to be extremely warm and welcoming, and have enjoyed learning from professors who are so passionate about their work.

Tip for future students

This is definitely a place with a "work hard, play hard" culture! As academically rigorous as the school weeks may feel, everyone channels the same amount of energy into having fun on the weekends at sports games or hanging out with friends.

Favorite class

Intro to Media Studies! I think the subject material of the class is especially relevant now, and I love the way that the class takes such an analytical approach when discussing such ubiquitous forms of media in American culture.

Career goals

I hope to go to law school or work in a journalistic field.
