Film and Television Production BFA Major, Freshman
Hi! I'm Sean! I currently attend USC pursuing a BFA in Film and Tv Production. Film is one of the biggest majors here at USC and the programs here are some of the most comprehensive and best in the world! Between the faculty, resources, and students themselves, USC is the best place to pursue filmmaking and I can talk a lot about all of it. I'm also a part of the Thematic Option Honors program, which replaces some GE's with a deeper focus on the humanities and philosophy. In my free time, I love watching movies (La La Land is my all time top), thrifting, or just hanging out with friends anywhere. I'm part of a couple of clubs here too, mostly film related, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about those too. Feel free to send any questions you might have along, and if you want to schedule a time that isn't listed still let me know to see if I can move anything around!

Describe your college experience
USC had always been my dream school to go to- not just for film, but for the great academics, the passionate community, and the campus location in the center of Los Angeles. That first feeling I had when I found out that I got in truly changed my life. In my time here, I've loved experiencing everything that the school and environment has to offer. The culture and community of USC is one of a kind and absolutely the best if you want that classic college feel. The classes and professors here have so much knowledge, between both film and everything else. I think that one of USC's greatest things about its programs is its outreach and connections: I frequently have the opportunity to come to screenings and hear from influential directors, and such a wide variety of other famous people come here as well. USC is truly the best and I've loved spending time learning about film, joining clubs, and hanging out on campus and in the awesome environment of L.A.!
Tip for future students
Always be open to new experiences! USC is one of the best schools because of all of the opportunities it offers: from major-related seminars, the insane variety of clubs, and all of Los Angeles surrounding you, there's just so much to do. In my own experience, you'll actually find it harder to figure out what you don't want to do, since there's just so many things that are awesome. Just make sure to balance everything so you're able to manage it all and your time at USC will be the best!
Favorite class
CTCS-466: Theatrical Symposium is a class that shows new and upcoming films before their release date and also hosts an hourlong Q&A with a crew member (usually the director!) after the screening.
