Explore Stanford with a Kind and Friendly Senior Tour Guide!
Hi everyone! I'm Hailey, a senior at Stanford pursuing my bachelor's in Human Biology and master's in Biology, and I'm originally from Queens, New York! I'm a first-generation college student who loves meeting new people, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and getting involved in campus life. I've had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Paris, South Africa, and Japan, and some of my favorite Stanford memories have come from the people I've met along the way. I love sharing my experiences, hearing other people's stories, and helping visitors feel at home on campus. I'm so excited to meet you and show you around!

Describe your college experience
Coming to Stanford from Queens, New York, was one of the most exciting but overwhelming transitions of my life. As a first-generation college student and the daughter of immigrants, I arrived with so much excitement, but also a lot to figure out on my own. Over time, Stanford has become a place where I've grown in ways I never expected. I've had the opportunity to conduct research I'm passionate about, study abroad in Paris and Japan, and meet some of the kindest, most inspiring people. Some of my favorite experiences have come from being involved in campus communities and helping other students find their place here. College has challenged me, but it's also taught me to embrace unfamiliar opportunities, believe in myself, and appreciate how much there is to learn from the people around me. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience!
Tip for future students
My biggest piece of advice is to never let the fear of being inexperienced stop you from trying something new! Some of my favorite memories and most meaningful experiences at Stanford came from opportunities I almost didn't pursue. Say yes to things that excite you, take classes outside your comfort zone, and don't be afraid to ask for help along the way. Most importantly, remember that everyone is figuring things out as they go. Be kind to yourself, invest in the people around you, and make time to enjoy the little moments. Four years go by so much faster than you think!
Favorite class
My favorite class at Stanford has been Economic Challenges for France, which I took while studying abroad in Paris. Coming from a biology background, the course pushed me outside my academic comfort zone and challenged me to think critically about economics, public policy, and global institutions. What made it especially memorable was getting to visit organizations like the OECD and French Treasury and see the concepts we discussed in class come to life. It was such a unique opportunity to learn about a country while actually living in it, and it completely broadened my perspective.
Career goals
After graduating, I hope to spend a year working in healthcare consulting, where I can apply my background in biology and public health to better understand the challenges facing healthcare systems. Afterward, I plan to attend law school, with the long-term goal of pursuing a career at the intersection of healthcare, law, and public policy. Ultimately, I hope to use my education and experiences to advocate for more equitable access to healthcare and make a meaningful difference in the communities I serve.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night would be exploring a new restaurant somewhere in the Bay Area with friends, trying something delicious, and then heading back to campus for a Stanford event! I love discovering new places, meeting new people, and making the most of the fun things happening around campus. The best nights are always the spontaneous ones filled with good food, great company, and lots of laughter!
