Enthusiastic Engineering Major Who Loves to Answer Questions

Hey! I'm Eric, a freshman here at BYU studying Manufacturing Engineering. I am from Houston, Texas and I love rock climbing, meeting new people, and the delicious food here on campus! Not too long ago, I was also learning about BYU and considering becoming a student here. One of the things that really sold me was the spiritual atmosphere of this place. I love BYU and am excited to help you learn more about the campus here in Provo!

Describe your college experience

I absolutely love the culture here at BYU. Everyone you meet is so kind and open to meet new people. The professors and TAs are very helpful and you can tell that everyone here has a desire to work hard to achieve their potential. I also love the many resources that the university gives me to be successful.

Tip for future students

There are so many academic counselors, TAs, and other resources that you can use to make life easier on campus. Use all the resourses you have and always be aware of deadlines for your class assignments.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been Intro to Manufacturing Engineering because the topic is fascinating and I love thinking about how to best optimize things.

Career goals

I want to use my degree as a manufacturing engineer working in the production industry. I want to produce products whether it be technology, cars, office supplies, or even food, I want to help companies improve their production systems and optimize their work.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I would go rock climbing with some friends in the mountains near campus and on the way back, stop at Raising Cane's to get dinner.

Ischool High at University Park

Favorite spot on campus

I love the math lab because I need all the help I can get in my math classes and the TAs are good at helping me figure things out myself while guiding me in the right direction.
