I have a passion for connecting with people from all over the world. I have been to 17 countries and continue to foster my love for travel by engaging with the international student community at Ole Miss. I enjoy being part of the international student community as an American who can help internationals gain their footing, exploring local coffee shops, and I’m currently learning Arabic. Did you know Ole Miss is a Flagship for Arabic and Chinese? As a tour guide, I have fun sharing my college experience and helping future students feel at home on campus. Ask me your questions about navigating studying, finding friends, and living the hotty toddy life. I was a transfer student, so I offer my unique experience coming to Ole Miss as a Junior and finding my home in Oxford!

Describe your college experience

As the child of two Ole Miss graduates, I knew Ole Miss would be a welcoming and personal place. Ole Miss stuck out to me because during my entire application process I always received quick and kind responses to all of my questions. I would even get hand written notes from advisors telling me that they hoped we could connect soon. I did not have this experience with any other school I applied to, demonstrating how there really is something special about Ole Miss. Even my brother has just started his freshman year on campus while I am beginning my senior year! With unmatched campus beauty, small class sizes, friendly and well-accomplished professors, and diverse programs, Ole Miss has been a great choice for me! I love getting to see my professors at the Student Union and grab a coffee with them because of Ole Miss' perfect size. You get the state school experience while maintaining a cozy feeling.

Tip for future students

Do not be afraid to answer and ask questions in class! Your professors want to know your thoughts. Let them be a resource-- that is why they are there!

Favorite class

New Orleans Literature because I learned more about the Creole culture and read A Streetcar Named Desire which taught me about life in the city. I had a passionate and fun professor who always challenged me to ask deeper questions. A paper I wrote for this class got awarded the Best Scholarly Essay in the English Department.

Career goals

Working for a Christian nonprofit would be my dream! I would love to be a content writer and tell stories from across the world of how people are caring for the most vulnerable.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Grabbing sushi with a friend, then go for a walk at Lamar Park to hopefully see some deer, and finish the night with a Crumbl cookie and a good movie!

High school or secondary school

I attended Wylie High School and graduated in the top 10% with extensive involvement in the future health professionals club and volunteer service at local nursing homes.

Previous college

I transferred with an Associate's Degree from Collin College in Texas. All of my credits transferred, and Ole Miss advisors were very helpful in helping me navigate what classes to take both at Collin and as a new student. Being a transfer student means you have to be proactive in getting involved on campus! I have enjoyed connecting with other transfer students and getting to experience a beautiful and walkable college campus. There is also a campus club called Transfer Leadership Organization to help transfer students with their transition.
