Describe your college experience
College was a somewhat rough transition for me, with my first year being interrupted due to COVID while dealing with an increasingly negative environment. But the people I've met and the experiences I've gained were well worth it because it made me a stronger individual.
Tip for future students
Be flexible and determined. I had to switch institutions to get my undergrad degree, so don't hold yourself to the idea that you only are going to attend one institution. Be open and get involved in your community, as learning how to network and build connections is now mandatory to succeed in and after college.
Favorite class
My favorite class was my Senior Thesis project. This is where I really got close with my professors and learned to appreciate all they did for me.
Career goals
I work as a teaching assistant currently and hope to become a full-time professor at college institution in the future. In particular, I want to use my position to help non-traditional students. For example, I would love to be able to start a program geared towards helping students who are past their thirties get their degrees and get better paying jobs because of them.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Going out with friends to a few bars or venues or playing video games.
High school or secondary school
Jenks High School in Tulsa, OK.
Previous college
I attended the University of Tulsa from 2019 to 2022. I then transferred to Northeastern State University.
