Clemson Private Tour
Hey! I’m Ava, a rising senior Honors economics student. I’ve spent the past few years deeply involved in campus life, from being heavily involved with the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and being the next treasurer (my third position), playing on several intramural sports teams, to helping students navigate their careers through my work at the Career Center with career development and AI research. I also have experience working, hiking, and volunteering in the community and have gone on several Clemson outdoor/abroad trips. I’ve lived both on and off campus as well am a gold star bus rider! I can give advice on juggling it all from a students prospective on these personal tours!

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college was both exciting and overwhelming. At first, I felt pressure to have everything figured out. But over time, I’ve realized college is more about exploration than perfection. I’ve grown a lot by getting involved in service, leadership, and research opportunities that align with what I care about. Being part of the Honors College and organizations like Alpha Phi Omega has helped me build community and stay grounded in my values. My experience so far has been full of growth, learning, and a better understanding of how I want to make an impact.
Tip for future students
One tip I’d give future students is to stop waiting until you feel “ready” to get involved. Try things early because that’s how you find your people and your path. I wish I’d known how normal it is to feel uncertain at first, and that most students are figuring it out as they go. Also, don’t underestimate the value of talking to professors, using the career center, and just asking for help. Clemson has a lot of support, but you have to take the first step to seek it out.
Favorite class
One of my favorite classes so far has been Designing Your Life. It completely changed how I think about decision-making and helped me get clearer on what I actually want out of college and beyond. It was practical, reflective, and empowering and I’ve used what I learned in that class to shape everything from my career goals to the programs I’ve created for other students.
Career goals
After college, I hope to pursue a career in project management where I can combine strategy, creativity, and social impact. I enjoy organizing teams, streamlining processes, and making ideas happen, whether it’s leading workshops, launching student programs, or coordinating service projects. Long-term, I’d love to manage projects that support education, sustainability, or community development, either through a mission-driven company or my own business.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is something like grabbing dinner with friends, going on a sunset walk, or working on a creative project just for fun. I love any night that feels cozy, intentional, and recharging. Also a perk if it includes good conversation or time in nature.

Ava was a great tour guide! She showed us all around campus and was very knowledgeable about any questions we asked. Very friendly and definitely helpful when trying to evaluate schools.
